The “Honeymoon”

After thinking it over for a while and looking at all the options, we’ve decided to move to South Surrey, British Columbia in Canada in December, 2025. This has been one of the most difficult decisions to make as parents of both adult and minor children who still have lives in the United States. Taking ourselves to a country we’ve never even visited and essentially starting over has required a lot of humility, determination, and hours of research, contact, and paperwork. We make this decision with the intention of providing both a safe option for our children, their families, and for all the people we know looking for a better and softer life. We plan to provide free stays for anyone interested in emigrating from the US, or exploring that possibility. Come see what it’s like, have a breather for a couple weeks (or months). We want to give anyone who needs it the chance to pursue the life, liberty, and happiness we were promised. We are so grateful to the Semiahmoo First Nation of the Coastal Salish people, upon whose land we will live; we hope to live in solidarity with our adopted community while also helping our American communities find respite and a better life wherever they feel is best for them in the world. If you are reading this, we extend a personal invitation to you or anyone you may know looking to start a new life in another country.
